French FC AS Monaco Partner With Epsilon Esports
The world of traditional sports and eSports continue to push closer together, with AS Monaco announcing that Nathan “Sneaky” Nayagom will be their club’s official eSports ambassador.
Nayagom, who plays on Epsilon’s FIFA team, will now compete officially under the AS Monaco banner throughout the 2016-17 season. Epsilon believes that the partnership “makes perfect sense”.
“Nobody would believe me if I told you that I would be partnering us with an historical football club when we created Epsilon eSports 10 years ago,” claimed Epsilon CEO Greg Champagne in a statement.
“Sports and eSports are meeting for the happiness of our fan-bases. From today onwards, let’s try to achieve the best performances for the enjoyment of our audiences.”
AS Monaco’s Bruno Skropeta agrees, saying that they are “really happy to conclude this partnership with Epsilon eSports, and it will allow us to be one of the major players in this area in both France and Europe.”
“This opportunity will give a totally new rewarding experience to all our fans. E-sport has a really young market which is a growing sector, and is therefore an important new step in the digital strategy of the club.”
The move follows fellow French football team Paris Saint-Germain, who announced their purchase of Team Huma earlier this month.
