Cloud9 Win ESL Pro League Season 4, Defeat SK Gaming

This weekend, a nailbiting best-of-three match saw Cloud9 take home $200,000 in prize money at the conclusion of the ESL Pro League Season 4.

SK Gaming took the first match on Overpass before Cloud9 came back to even the score on Mirage. The game was clinched in the third round on Dust 2 in a brutal fight that included an incredible no-scope by SK’s AWPer, Gabriel ‘FalleN’ Toledo.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to save the match, and Cloud9 were able to maintain their lead and win the round.

The win is the first title to be taken by Cloud9 since November last year, when they beat Team Liquid 2:1 at the iBUYPOWER Cup. The $200,000 prize is a good sight better than the $20,000 they were awarded in September when Virtus.pro beat them 2:1 at DreamHack Bucharest.

SK Gaming’s Brazilian team will be feeling the loss keenly, losing in front of a massive hometown crowd at Ginásio do Ibirapuera in São Paulo. They walk away with $90,000 in prize money.
