Team Liquid Reportedly Finalizes NA LCS Roster, Adds Piglet and Goldenglue

Team Liquid will reportedly promote two of their former Team Liquid Academy members to the main roster for the 2017 League of Legends North American League Championship Series.

2013 World Champion AD carry Chae "Piglet" Gwang-jin and mid laner Greyson "Goldenglue" Gilmer are being promoted from the Academy, according to sources quoted by ESPN.

Former Team Immortals jungler Kim "Reignover" Yeu-jin, support Matthew "Matt" Elento and top laner Samson "Lourlo" Jackson round out the roster. The team is currently in South Korea, bootcamping to prepare for the season.

Team Liquid’s previous junglers, Galen "Moon" Holgate and Joshua "Dardoch" Hartnett, have departed the roster. Dardoch was suspended by Team Liquid earlier this year for “behavioral problems and team dynamics issues”. Kim "FeniX" Jae-hun will also be unable to compete.

The new lineup will hopefully improve Team Liquid’s showing at the LCS. They have struggled to place higher than fourth or fifth ever since taking first place at the 2015 North American LCS Summer Season in June of last year.

The promotion of Piglet and Goldenglue comes after Team Liquid sold off their Challenger Series spot to eUnited. This “promotion farming” process is about to be outlawed by Riot, as confirmed by J.T. “Tiza” Vandenbree earlier this week.
