Evil Geniuses Shut Down StarCraft II Division

After eight years, Evil Geniuses have shuttered their StarCraft II division and released their remaining SC2 players Geoff “iNcontroL” Robinson and Chris “HuK” Loranger from their contracts.

At the end of last year, iNcontroL said in a video that he was not expecting to stay with Evil Geniuses in 2017, saying the team no longer saw StarCraft II as financially viable. Yesterday, he tweeted that he was no longer with the organization and that he had been "left behind without a word."

After iNcontroL announced his departure, EG’s new CEO, former Dota 2 captain, Peter “ppd” Dager confirmed that the organization would be pulling out of StarCraft immediately.

This is the latest in a series of new directions for the Geniuses, having left Twitch to become a player-led company halfway through December last year. EG picked up a new Call of Duty roster in November and have said they will be looking more new talent in the coming months.
