MonteCristo and DoA Leave LCK

Christopher “MonteCristo” Mykles has announced on Twitter that he and fellow caster Erik “DoA” Lonnquist will no longer be casting the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK).

While we’re still waiting on an official statement from the pair, this announcement comes after several months of public bad blood between the casters and Riot over pay disputes. This is also something of a theme for Riot lately, with teams also vocally criticizing the pay structure of their tournaments.

MonteCristo and DoA being absent from LCK marks the end of a decade-long era of casting for the event. He assures fans that they will both continue casting Overwatch on Korean cable television network OGN’s Apex.

2017’s LCK will instead be broadcast by Chris “PapaSmithy” Smith, and new OGN caster Seth “Achilios” King.
