ROX Signs New Overwatch Team, ROX Orcas

South Korean organization ROX, best known for their League of Legends team ROX Tigers, have announced their foray into the world of Overwatch with their new team, ROX Orcas.

The team has formerly competed under the name Motiondive. At the South Korean APEX Challenger last year, they failed to make it past the first round. They will be returning to APEX this year for the second season, under their new banner.

As noted in the ROX Tigers’ announcement post on Facebook, ROX is well-known for their aggressive playstyle in League of Legends and chose their Overwatch players to follow suit. The roster for the ROX Orcas will be as follows:

  • Cho “Aloha” Kyung-hoon
  • Kang “Try” Tae-wook
  • Cha “Le1gend” Kwang-ho
  • Chung “Melee” Chang-gyonn
  • Kim “Daemin” Dae-min
  • Cho “Guardian” Joon-hwan

The team will be led by Aloha as their player-coach. "Through aggressive, fiery play, we will become a team that can make fans' chests ring with excitement,” he said in the announcement.

“Although the weight of the ROX name is large, we want to be an imposing, historic team to stand up to the name of the Tigers. ROX's fame will rise and we will become a successful team."

In related news, Blizzard has recently banned more than 10,000 Overwatch accounts for cheating in Korea alone.
