Astralis Announces Awesome Audi Arrangement

The hottest news in auto-esports relations is the announcement that Danish Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team Astralis has found a high-profile new sponsor in German car manufacturers Audi.

Astralis were formed this time last year after leaving behind Team SoloMid to become a player-owned team. They’ve now taken on Audi’s branding colors and started using their marketing hashtag “#untaggable”.

The partnership was hinted at by a video released on Thursday morning. While it was a bit cryptic, it featured the #untaggable slogan which some fans immediately recognized. It has since been confirmed by other tweets, such as those of co-owner and player Andreas Højsleth.

"It's fantastic news for esports and a validation of our world, that a non-endemic brand like Audi chooses to work with Astralis and Counter-Strike," says Frederik Byskov, Astralis’ founder in a statement to Dot Esports.

"I've been in esports for more than 10 years, and we only created Astralis a year ago. It's a fantastic way to celebrate the anniversary today. I'm very thankful for the work RFRSH Entertainment has put into this, making it a possibility for Astralis to enter a partnership with Audi.”

According to Dot’s sources close to the deal, the sponsorship is worth just under $750,000 USD, making it roughly on par with Visa’s partnership with SK Gaming earlier in the month.

You can look for Astralis and their new Audi branding competing at this year’s ELEAGUE, hoping for a slice of a $1 million prize pool. The ELEAGUE Major runs from January 22-29.
