Vainglory welcomes five new pro organizations including Fnatic

Mobile competitive MOBA Vainglory has already taken strides to becoming the first truly successful mobile-based esport. Those strides are fast becoming leaps and bounds as the developers Super Evil Megacorp have announced five more powerhouse esports organisations joining the fold.

TSM, Cloud9, G2 Esports, SK Gaming and mousesports are already part of the growing community involved in Vainglory. The number of professional players has now doubled with the addition of Echo Fox, Fnatic, Immortals, NRG and Rogue.

“These are some of the most diverse and high-profile teams in all of esports,” Super Evil’s CEO Kristian Segerstrale stated.

“To have them not only recognize Vainglory’s growth over the past year, but also create their first-ever teams dedicated to a mobile game, means the competition in the 2017 season is going to be more fierce than ever before.

“These teams are owned and operated by some of the most respected names in sports and entertainment, and there’s tremendous opportunity for everyone involved to usher in the next defining moments of esports.”

Fnatic are taking it a step further and claiming London as their home city in the Vainglory Home City Program. This allows for revenue sharing while further building a community for the game through local tournaments and meetups.

“At the start of the year, our live esports events were organized by a set of community and player volunteers,” said Segerstrale. “Now we are taking a major step with the Vainglory Team Franchise Program to deepen our relationships with the pro teams that are committed to helping Vainglory esports grow.”

It sounds like Vainglory is the next burgeoning big thing to keep your eye on. Especially if you happen to live in London.
