IEM World Championship Lineup Finalised As G2 Replaces Cloud 9

The full lineup for IEM World Championship 2017 at Katowice later this month has been locked in, with G2 Esports stepping up at the last minute to take the place of Cloud9 who pulled out to “focus entirely on maintaining their undefeated record” at the NA LCS.

G2 Esports currently hold the number one spot in the EU LCS with a 6-0 record. They will be the only undefeated team to compete for the $150,000 event when it kicks off on February 25 and 26.

The IEM World Championships will be G2’s first international event since the 2016 League World Championship, where their less-than-ideal performance saw them crashing out in the group stage. Since then they appear to have got their team in order and have been dominating the EU LCS – a winning streak they can hopefully take all the way into Katowice.

The full list of teams competing at Katowice will be:

  • H2k
  • Unicorns of Love
  • M19
  • Kongdoo Monster
  • EDG
  • ROX Tigers
  • Flash Wolves
