Cloud9's Meteos subs in on Phoenix1

According to an announcement made on Phoenix1’s Facebook page, their jungler, Rami ‘Inori’ Charagh has returned to Vancouver to “take care of a personal matter” and is therefore unable to participate in Week 5 matches of the NA LCS.

Luckily, P1 have been able to obtain a sub at very short notice. Cloud9’s sub William “Meteos” Hartman has agreed to step in in P1’s time of need and help them out. But is that all there is to it?

According to theScore esports, Riot’s media relations lead Alex Rubens has confirmed to them via email that cash has changed hands and that Meteos contract has been acquired by Phoenix1. What’s more, Meteos is now on Phoenix’s roster on the official, league-recognised contract database.

If I were to hazard a guess, I’d say Meteos’ transfer has been in the works for a while but whatever “personal matter” Inori has to deal with forced them to move him over before they were ready to announce it. Perhaps Inori’s personal matter even has something to do with him leaving Phoenix1 to make room for Meteos.

In any case, Meteos joins the rest of the Phoenix1 team to play Team EnVyUs this weekend, followed by a faceoff with his old teammates in Cloud 9 which will be a match worth watching.
