Hearthstone's Next Un'Goro Expansion Introduces Elementals And Adaptation

135 new cards are on their way to Hearthstone in the next upcoming expansion, announced overnight as Journey to Un’Goro. This expansion is themed around the exploration of the wild and untamed lands of the titular continent, with the expected overgrown wildlife and raw, elemental power.

The new keyword in the Un’Goro expansion is ‘Adapt’, and cards with this keyword will be able to make a choice between three different buff options as soon as they are played. Some of the options available include things like Divine Shield, Windfury, Taunt, or even a straight-up +3 attack bonus.

New Hearthstone Legendary Quest Cards

Another new feature coming in Un’Goro is the Quest card type. These new Legendary cards are guaranteed to appear in your opening hand, and if you can complete the task outlined on them, you’ll receive “incredible rewards”.

Blizzard gives an example of a Quest card called “Awaken The Makers”, which is completed when you’ve summoned seven Deathrattle minions, and rewards you with Amara, Warden of Hope -- an 8/8 Hero who sets your health to 40 when she deploys.

Un’Goro marks the first release in the Year of the Mammoth, which is Blizzard’s fancy new name for their new strategy of changing their release structure. Read more information on that here.

As always, Hearthstone’s latest expansion is available now to pre-order, so make sure you hit up the official site if you’re keen for more information.
