Team Liquid Signs Doublelift for Remainder of Spring Split

With only three weeks left to go in the League of Legends NA LCS Spring Split, the bottom-placed Team Liquid has signed on veteran AD carry Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng to try and boost their flagging performance.

Doublelift joins the team only a week after Jung "Youngbin" Young-bin was announced for the AD carry role. Unfortunately for Youngbin, a Team Liquid Academy player, it seems that Team Liquid management think he isn’t ready for the front lines just yet. Doublelift will take over, effective immediately.

The AD carry position in Team Liquid seems to be in flux at the moment, with former AD carry Chae "Piglet" Gwang-jin being moved to the mid-lane position at the end of February in order to make room for Youngbin, who is now gone.

Team Liquid’s NA LCS performance

Team Liquid owner Steve "Liquid112" Arhancet made the announcement in a Facebook post earlier this week.

"In the last week of LCS we saw that Youngbin is not yet ready to deliver the results that were needed in order for us to perform well this split and so we will be making an additional change," explained Arhancet.

Team Liquid have struggled to place at all this time around in the Split, winning only three sets in six weeks. Their next match is against the top-ranked Cloud9, and unless Doublelift can pull a magical turnaround, they may very well find themselves in the Challenger Series.
