Heroes Brawl: Heroes of the Storm's New Game Mode

Blizzard recently announced a new game mode for their top-down MOBA Heroes of the Storm called Heroes Brawl.

Heroes Brawl is a twist on the usual HotS gameplay which will “turn everything you thought you knew about the game on its head”. The mode will feature new arena maps, new single-lane maps and what Blizzard refers to as “mutations” on the standard maps.

“In a nutshell, Heroes Brawl is Heroes of the Storm, seen through the lens of delightful madness,” the announcement reads. “Play on unique maps with surreal twists and with custom rulesets.”

Blizzard didn't want to give too much away but did provide one example of the “many, many” mutations that are available. For example, the new ‘Hammer Time’ map is one in which every player is Sergeant Hammer and thrusters are permanently engaged. Each team’s core is invulnerable, so players will zoom around capturing towers to win.

Hero selection will also be overhauled, with different rulesets governing each map.

“For each brawl, you may either have preset heroes, you may shuffle (pick your hero from a custom lineup), or pure random.”

There will be weekly rewards for those who participate in Heroes Brawl. Play in three Brawls a week to earn unique rewards and large gold prizes.

Heroes Brawl will start officially on October 17th. If you’re in a hurry, it will be hitting the Public Test Realm on October 10th.
