DreamHack Returns to Austin in 2017

DreamHack, the world’s largest LAN party, will be returning to Austin, Texas in 2017 with a cool $100,000 in tow to spend on the winners of a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament.

Other games that will be on competitive display include Hearthstone, Street Fighter V and Super Smash Bros. Exactly which flavour of Smash Bros will make the cut is not clear at this point, although it’s likely that Melee will be the version of choice as it was in Austin this year.

Heroes of the Storm and Pokken Tournament, both of which had dedicated tournaments this year, appear to have been cut from the competitive schedule.

DreamHack’s 4,000 seat BYOC LAN area will also feature its own tournaments, with games of CS:GO, Overwatch, Rocket League and League of Legends mentioned.

More games are almost certain to be announced closer to the date (April 28-30 2017), so if you’re not sold yet, wait around - we’ll keep you up to date!

Tickets can be purchased through the DreamHack website.
